WE DID IT!
Our charity fundraising casino last week was wildly successful.. Once the accountants have tallied up all the numbers, we’re expecting that the casino will have raised somewhere around $70,000 for our school association.
100% THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
We’re incredibly thankful to the support from our community for this project. While our association has a long history of charity casinos, this is the first time the two of us have organized one. As well, a lot of volunteers had never been part of a charity casino before. We had a very difficult event date (the last two days of school) that conflicted with many people’s calendars because of travel and graduation.
Despite these challenges, we are overwhelmed with the positive support.
Everyone was on time and ahead of schedule, even though both days we had a major storm right around shift change. Both our AGLC advisors and Cowboy’s casino staff have told us that everyone in our group was well organized, a joy to work with, and a huge help to the busy jobs they have.
Our Wednesday night was on the slow side, but it meant a lot of chances to take breaks and re-learn the process. Thursday was steady with a fun crowd.
Our feedback was that it was a fun activity to do together, and great for people watching.
It meant a lot to us to see such a good group at the event. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for coming out to support our school and parent association.
The direction of funds will go to the further the educational goals of our students are decided by the parent association over the next 3 years.
Meetings are monthly during the school year.
PRIZE DRAW WINNERS: We’re also happy to announce our two prize draw winners: Dianne & Dennis.
Both of them worked the Thursday night count room. Included in their prize basket are gift cards to Patisserie du Soleil and Happy Cup, water balloons, a travel mug, coffee cup, and most importantly – four VIP reserved seats to the spring concert, VIP parking for the spring concert, and four tickets to the halloween dance.
We are currently setting the next steps for our next casino fundraiser expected sometime in 2025 – see you there!
