Message from the school:
Dear Parents/Caregivers:
Once again, we are excited to announce that Woodbine School is continuing our tradition of proudly taking part in the Terry Fox School Run – last year we received our 35-year participation banner! The run is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 20th at 1:15pm.
Cancer touches the lives of countless individuals and families, and the need for ongoing research and support is as critical as ever. Your contribution to the Woodbine School Terry Fox run goes directly to the Terry Fox Foundation, and will assist in funding innovative cancer research projects, helping to improve the lives of those affected by this devastating disease.

We will begin in the gym with a short assembly, where students will be sharing some of their reflections and the messages they’ve created in support of this year’s #DearTerry campaign. Then, our Physical Education and Wellness teacher (Ms. Bignell) will lead us through a warmup before we begin dismissing classes for the run.
This year, all classes will be completing their run in Fish Creek Park. Our grade 6 Terry Fox Run ambassadors have helped scout out four different routes through Fish Creek Park, ranging from short and easy to longer and more challenging. There is a short 1.2 km route, a 1.8 km route, a 2.4 km route, and a longer 3.4 km route. All routes complete a loop that start and end at Woodbine School.
Your child’s teacher will reach out to let you know which route their class will be running. This year we are very grateful to be able to invite parent volunteers and guests to join us for the run, so please reach out to your child’s teacher if you would like to join your child’s run.
